Friday Wrap-Up, April 14, 2017 | a message from the Secretary of Aging

“This transformed Department of Health and Human Services structure further supports the Wolf Administration’s on-going commitment to serving and protecting Pennsylvania’s seniors whereby Lottery Fund dollars will continue to be used to benefit older Pennsylvanians and will not be transferred to further offset general fund expenditures; and the continuity of services for older adults will be further realized through the ongoing use of lottery dollars to support Older Americans Act programs, senior community center grants, and the State Plan on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders. Older Pennsylvanians will not see any cuts to their programs, there will be no impact on how lottery fund monies are used to support senior programs, and through the creation of the Department of Health and Human Services we will continue to build upon Pennsylvania’s rich history of protecting and serving its senior residents.” – Secretary of Aging Teresa Osborne

Each week the Office of the Secretary of Pennsylvania’s Department of Aging releases a Friday newsletter with information relevant to activities, issues and events for older Pennsylvanians and persons with disabilities across the Commonwealth.
