The 2018 Day of Caring – scheduled for Saturday, April 21 – will be here before you know it, so it’s time to start thinking about the projects you’ll want to submit! This year’s Day of Caring will be a little different than years past, and we’re excited to explain why!
United Way is launching a new online volunteer hub called GetConnected that can benefit your organization year-round. Agencies and organizations like yours can have a free page on the site and the autonomy to list volunteer projects and needs in real-time as they occur. Any community member can search the database of volunteer opportunities and sign up to assist with projects of interest.
This system will provide a streamlined process to encourage volunteerism among the Lebanon community. We will be rolling out GetConnected in conjunction with Day of Caring. Volunteers will be able to sign up directly for your project and even set up alerts to get information when volunteer opportunities that meet their preferences are posted. We are so excited about this tool and think you will be too!
Since this is a new process, we’d like to invite you to a Day of Caring Forum to learn how the tool works and hear more about our plans for this year’s Day of Caring.
We encourage you to attend the forum as we will require all Day of Caring projects to be submitted through this system. During the forum we’ll show you the system, answer your questions, and provide assistance in setting up your profile.
