Emily and Victor Stauffer celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary on yesterday at the StoneRidge Retirement Living in Myerstown.
“Emily Stauffer holds her husband Victor’s hand as he sleeps in his wheelchair at StoneRidge Retirement Living in Myerstown.
“Victor, 99, doesn’t get around as well as he used to so he stays in another part of the facility. Emily, 97, can’t help but lovingly rub his hand and stare at the man she fell in love with. She visits him three times a day.
“On Saturday, Emily and Victor Stauffer will celebrate their 77th wedding anniversary. During their marriage, they’ve experienced it all.
“They’ve fallen in love and had children. They’ve been separated by war and felt the loneliness that comes with it. They’ve shared decades of incredible highs and lows. They’ve been there for one another as their health faded and their love for and dedication to each other did not.”
